For one of my christmas presents from Chris this year, I got a Holga 120CFN – and checked it off my list!! For those of you who don’t know, a Holga is a medium format toy camera. Yep, it’s plastic!! It takes 120 type film, has only two shutter speeds, two different apertures, and four focus settings. There are different models, but mine has a color flash… very cool! :) Below are some photos so you can see what it looks like.
Here it is!

In this one you can see the four different focus points from 3 feet to infinity (the mountain symbol).

The color flash is the wheel on top. It can change from clear/white to blue, red, or yellow.

The awesome plastic lens… a 60mm 1.8. Nice!

The shutter release is that little trigger you see. It even came with a strap… what else could you ask for?

Here’s the lens cap. Holga experts actually tell you the first thing to do when you get it is to throw away the lens. One – because when you look through the viewfinder you’re not looking through the lens like in a digital camera, so you might be taking photos with the lens cap on and not know it. Two – because the lens is plastic… who cares if it gets scratched? It might produce cooler images anyway!
Plus the lens cap just looks cool. :)

Thanks, Chris, for getting me a Holga!! I can’t wait to show everyone the images that come out of it. Holgas are known to produce images with vignetting, blurring, light leaks, and other distortions! Check back to see some examples soon.

Congrats on the Holga! Can’t wait to see the images you get from it! (from the [b] school)
When can we see what this can do? Very cool present, don’t forget to bring it to Vegas
Holgas ROCK!!!!! Make sure you buy gaffers tape so you can tape up the back, the red viewing window (very important!) and all the seams to prevent your baby from having too many light leaks…
Have Fun!!!!!!
Congrats on your new baby!
Have fun with it!
